In the spring of 2009, dfwREALTORS.com – The MetroTex Association of REALTORS will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior in your immediate area and payable to the institute where they plan to further their education. The focus of the “Community Achievement Scholarship” is on community service, citizenship and financial need. While we applaud academic achievement, we are looking for candidates who, while academically responsible (maintain at least a “C+/2.5 GPA” average), have shown a passion and commitment to community service and exemplify good citizenship in the face of financial challenges.
The linked application is to be completed by the student applicant; then submitted to their Senior Counselor by February 15, 2009. The counselors from each high school will select one application to submit to our Association for consideration. The application must be received at the Association office by March 1, 2009.
The questionnaires will be evaluated by the Scholarship subcommittee of the Association based on the following weighted system:
50% Community Service
30% Financial Need
20% Citizenship
This scholarship will be one of 24 scholarships which we award each year to public high school seniors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. dfwREALTORS has approximately 14,000 members living and working in the Metroplex.
